Paul writes the first of two letters to the Thessalonian church to encourage them to "excel still more" in their faith amid persecution and false teachers.  In his second epistle, Paul exhorts the church to "not grow weary" as their trials continue.  In both epistles, Paul emphasizes the imminence of Christ’s return, both as an encouragement and a warning.  For believers today, "awaiting Christ's return" has more relevance than ever.  The reminder of Christ's soon return renews commitment to live "all-in" for the Lord and breathes new life into the battle-weary soul.
